A great new book

Got hold of a new Lambretta manual yesterday and spent most of today (on and off) reading it from cover to cover.

It's called the Total spanners guide to Lambrettas and it's aimed at the Series 3 models but so much of it covers the series 1 and 2 stuff so it's very useful.

You can buy it from http://www.scooterproducts.com/_pages/stickybook.htm

Crossing a dangerous line?

I crossed a dangerous line today - buying two scooters at once!

They are both quite oddball and interesting (just the thing for me).

The first is an API Lamby polo which is technically the last "new" model of Lambretta made.
It's an acquired taste, a bit unusual looking - basically a Series 2 Li redesigned by a Japanese design company.

The second is an Allwyn Pushpak, which is basically an Indian GP150 with a turning front mudguard that looks like it's from a 1960's Vespa. At first glance it looks odd but the design grows on you.

First post

Just set this thing up and am faced with having to think of something to say!

Well, welcome to my blog site!

It will chronicle the work I am doing on my collection of Scooters.

There are quite a few of them, so many in fact that I have to think hard about how many I have got.

As well as the ones I've got there are a few that are mine but I haven't picked up yet which makes things even more confusing.

I think that the work on my scooters will never end - a bit like the people that paint the Forth bridge, they have got a job for life. They get to the far end and have to go back and start again.

Hopefully as time goes on you might pick up a few tips from here and might even have some to offer.

My first job will be to make a proper list of my scooters, upload some pictures of them and outline my plans for them.
