Loads of space

I am now an ex-Lambro owner. A chap turned up yesterday in a van to take it to Basildon where it will go into a container to go to Australia.

It was quite a struggle to get it into the van as the driver had no ramps. Got an old fold down table and used that as a ramp to get the front wheel up into the van. Then used my hydraulic bike lift to lift the back end enough to retrieve the table and move it to under one of the rear wheels. Used a plank for the other wheel and in it went.

Mixed feelings about it going really. As I have said before I feel like I have failed as I always wanted a Lambro and when I got one it was too much for me. BUT in the two years I had the Lambro I have made virtually no progress with any of the two wheelers. I haven't ruled out ever getting another one but if I do I will get one that is a runner and ready to go on the road.

And pictures?

Didn't realise you could upload pics into the blogs!

Here is one from today showing the state of the garage.

Let's have a quick tour (ignore the lambro in the middle as that will be gone soon!).

From right going clockwise:-

Kelvinator Avanti under dustsheet.

Series 2 125 waiting for horncast and panels.

Few bits of tinware for next project.

Lamby polo frame, Series 2 frame and not visible but there cutdown project.

On top of frames is PAV trailer.

Then the funky new racking! Under bottom shelf, on floor, are trays of parts. Bottom shelf has sidecar and cento and a few bits and bobs to tidy up.

Next shelf barrels and engine casings.

Next shelf up is stuff waiting to be tidied away.

Top shelf 125 special frame, allwyn pushpak frame, model c frame and a T5 frame.

Then you can see the toolboard on the back wall and lastly some shelves in the corner with general crap on them.

Progress at last!

How can I keep this blog up to date? I can't see how I can make it
easier - I can email entries, I can also do them in word and upload
them. Bad time management I suppose!

Anyway, what have I been up to in the last two months since I last posted?

Sold the Lambro on ebay. It's off to Australia which means it's been
a bit complicated getting it all ready to go - I wanted a UK
buyer to turn up with a van/trailer and whisk it away but there you
go. Mixed feelings about it going really. I always wanted a Lambro
but I think I made a bad choice buying the ones I did. Should have
spent a bit more money to get a complete/running one maybe.
I've got the sidecar project now so that should give me something to
get my teeth into.

Finally got round to buying the racking (bit of Lambro money used).
It turned up on a pallet (very heavy) which we had to "tip" onto the
grass verge out the front of the house. My Dad fell over helping me
unload it so I felt a bit guilty about that.
Initially very disappointed as they sent the wrong sized shelves for
it but they quickly sent the correct ones at no cost to me.
So I'm pleased to recommend Stakrak http://www.stakrak.co.uk/ for all your racking needs

I emptied the garage and built the racking. Bit of a job on my own
(ever tried lifting 8 foot by 4 foot chipboard on your own).
First thought was that is was too big and will take up too much space
BUT I have got so much stuff on it that the floor is pretty much clear.
When the Lambro goes I will have so much space. Room to have the
hydraulic bench out with room to work down both sides! Wow!!
Took some time off work last week to sort it all out. Started tidying
the shed too (which is going to be the cost workshop).
Nearly knocked myself out when a frame slipped and hit me on the
head. I'm not 100% happy with the shed but it will do for now. I need
to put some more time in when the Lambro is gone.
